…Like Clockwork is the sixth studio album by Queens of the Stone Age, released in June 2013, and marked the band's first album in six years following Era Vulgaris. The album was primarily recorded at Josh Homme's own Pink Duck Studios in Burbank, California, as well as at Rancho De La Luna and other studios, with Homme serving as producer alongside engineering contributions from Mark Rankin, who mixed the record alongside Homme. The album featured an extensive roster of collaborators including Elton John, Alex Turner, Trent Reznor, and Dave Grohl, among others, reflecting Homme's desire for a diverse and expansive sonic palette. The recording process was deeply personal for Homme, who had undergone a serious health crisis involving a knee surgery complication that led to a near-death experience, which profoundly influenced the album's darker, introspective themes and emotional intensity. …Like Clockwork debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, marking the band's first chart-topping album, and was widely praised for its meticulous production, dynamic range, and layered arrangements that blended heavy rock with orchestral and electronic elements.
