Fly on the Wall

First released

Fly on the Wall was recorded in 1984 at the Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Canada, with producer Ron Nevison who had previously worked with AC/DC on Back in Black. The album was engineered by Mike Crossey and recorded on 24-track analog tape using the band's standard live-in-studio approach that emphasized tight performances and minimal overdubs. The recording sessions took place during a period of transition for the band, occurring after the departure of original lead vocalist Bon Scott and following the commercial success of their previous albums. AC/DC maintained their characteristic heavy rock sound while the production reflected the polished studio techniques of the mid-1980s, though the album received mixed critical reception compared to their earlier work. The sessions captured the band's raw energy and instrumental tightness, which became defining characteristics of the final release.
