Talkie Walkie

First released

Talkie Walkie, Air's second studio album, was recorded primarily at Studio Ferber in Paris and other locations during 2003-2004. The album was produced by Air themselves alongside Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, who continued their collaborative approach established on their debut. The production featured a blend of analog and digital recording techniques, with prominent use of synthesizers, orchestral arrangements, and live instrumentation characteristic of the duo's refined electronic sound. The album marked a more accessible and pop-oriented direction compared to Moon Safari, incorporating more vocal elements and structured songwriting while maintaining Air's signature lush production aesthetic. Released in February 2004, Talkie Walkie was widely recognized as a commercially successful follow-up that solidified Air's position in the early 2000s electronic and alternative music landscape.
