Atoms for Peace

Amok

First released

Atoms for Peace recorded "Amok" primarily at Thom Yorke's personal studio in Los Angeles between 2009 and 2012, with additional sessions at other studios including work in New York. The album was produced by Nigel Godrich, who has long collaborated with Thom Yorke and Radiohead, alongside the band members themselves. The group employed a collaborative approach to composition and arrangement, with Yorke, Godrich, Flea, Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco all contributing creatively to the songwriting and production process. The recording sessions were characterized by an experimental ethos, utilizing a mix of electronic production techniques, live instrumentation, and extensive use of loops and overdubs. The album was released in February 2013 and marked Atoms for Peace's only studio album to date.
