Amok

First released

Atoms for Peace recorded their debut album "Amok" primarily at Jungle City Studios in New York during 2009-2010, with additional sessions at other locations including Los Angeles. The band, led by Thom Yorke with Nigel Godrich as producer and primary collaborator, worked with engineer Nigel Godrich and mixing engineer Nigel Godrich to create a electronic and rhythmic sound influenced by dance and krautrock. The production utilized extensive use of synthesizers, programmed drums, and live instrumentation, with Godrich employing his characteristic production techniques developed through his work with Radiohead. The album was released in February 2010 and marked Yorke's most dance-oriented project to date, representing a deliberate shift toward electronic experimentation outside of his main band's work.
