Janus Records — JXS 7009

Mirage, Camel's fourth studio album, was recorded in 1974 at Phonogram Studios in The Netherlands and released in 1974. The album was produced by the band themselves in collaboration with engineer Peter Henderson, who would later become a renowned producer. The recording utilized analog tape technology and featured the band's characteristic progressive rock sound with Peter Bardens on keyboards playing a central role in the album's composition. Mirage showcased Camel's experimentation with longer compositional structures and complex arrangements, establishing them as a significant force in progressive rock during the mid-1970s. The album's production reflected the band's hands-on approach to their music and their commitment to ambitious studio work during the height of the progressive rock era.
