Their Greatest Hits 1971–1975

First released

Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 by Eagles was a compilation album released in February 1976, compiled from recordings made between 1971 and 1975 across multiple studio sessions. The tracks were originally recorded at various Los Angeles-area studios including The Record Plant and Capitol Studios during the band's early years, produced primarily by Bill Szymczyk, who had worked extensively with the band on their studio albums. The compilation was mastered and sequenced to create a cohesive retrospective of the band's most successful singles and album tracks from their first five years. No new recordings were made for this release; it represented a curation of existing material that had already been engineered during the original recording sessions by various engineers including Szymczyk and others. The album became one of the best-selling albums in music history, partly due to its strategic timing following the success of their 1975 album One of These Nights and the continued radio popularity of their earlier hits.
