Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab — MFSL 1-030

Slowhand was recorded at Dynamic Sound Studios in Nassau, Bahamas and Criteria Studios in Miami between January and March 1977. The album was produced by Glyn Johns, who had worked extensively with the Rolling Stones and Eagles, bringing his expertise in capturing live-sounding recordings to Clapton's work. The production emphasized a more relaxed, blues-influenced approach compared to some of Clapton's previous work, reflecting the informal Bahamas recording environment. The album featured contributions from various session musicians and showcased Clapton's shift toward more accessible, radio-friendly rock while maintaining his blues-rock foundation. Slowhand became one of Clapton's most commercially successful albums, reaching number 2 on the Billboard 200 and establishing him as a major solo artist in the late 1970s.
