Slash — 9 45723-1

King for a Day… Fool for a Lifetime was recorded at Capitol Studios and One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles during 1994-1995. The album was produced by Faith No More and Matt Wallace, who had previously worked with the band on The Real Thing. The band experimented with diverse musical styles and song structures during these sessions, reflecting their artistic ambitions following the commercial success of Angel Dust. The recording process involved extensive use of both analog and digital equipment, with a focus on capturing organic performances and layered arrangements across the album's 11 tracks. This album marked a shift toward more accessible production compared to the densely layered approach of their previous work.
