Hub-Tones is a jazz album by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard released in 1964 on the Blue Note Records label. The album was recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, with producer Alfred Lion overseeing the sessions. Recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder captured the performances using his renowned studio techniques that became synonymous with Blue Note's sound during the 1960s. The album features Hubbard's quintet with saxophonist James Spaulding, pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Elvin Jones, showcasing the emerging post-bop style of the era. The sessions represent a significant moment in Hubbard's early recording career and showcase Blue Note's commitment to documenting the avant-garde jazz developments of the early 1960s.
