Veckatimest, Grizzly Bear's third studio album, was recorded primarily at Rare Book Room in Brooklyn, New York, with additional recording at other locations including the band members' homes. The album was produced by the band themselves alongside producer Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead, who played a significant role in shaping the album's refined indie rock sound. Recording took place over an extended period in 2008-2009, during which the band experimented extensively with layered instrumentation, vocal arrangements, and digital production techniques. The technical approach combined live instrumentation with meticulous studio craftsmanship, featuring careful microphone placement and post-production editing to achieve the album's intricate, densely textured sound.
