Centerfield — John Fogerty

John Fogerty

Centerfield

First released

Centerfield was recorded in 1984 and released in 1985, marking John Fogerty's comeback album after a decade-long absence from recording. The album was primarily recorded at the Capital Studios and One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles, with Fogerty taking an active role in the production process. Fogerty worked with producer John Fogerty himself along with engineer Thom Panaggio, utilizing analog recording techniques combined with emerging digital technology of the mid-1980s. The album featured Fogerty's signature guitar-driven rock sound with stronger emphasis on contemporary 1980s production polish compared to his earlier Creedence Clearwater Revival work. Centerfield became a commercial success and Grammy-winning effort, re-establishing Fogerty's presence in rock music and demonstrating his ability to update his classic sound for the mid-1980s era.
