Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab — MFSL 1-144

Journey's "Escape" was recorded in 1985 at Capitol Studios and One on One Recording Studios in Los Angeles. The album was produced by Quincy Jones, who brought his expertise in pop production to the band's arena rock sound. Engineer Roy Halee and mixing engineer George Marino contributed significantly to the album's polished production quality. The recording sessions marked a notable shift toward more accessible, radio-friendly pop-rock compared to the band's previous work, with particular emphasis on layered keyboards and synthesizers alongside the traditional rock instrumentation. The album became one of Journey's most commercially successful releases, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and spawning multiple hit singles.
