The album was produced by Massive Attack alongside producer Misha Lipscomb, with the band maintaining a collaborative approach by working with various vocalists and musicians in separate sessions rather than traditional band recording methods. The production incorporated digital and analog recording techniques, with a notable emphasis on working with featured artists remotely and in fragmented sessions, reflecting the band's dispersed creative process.
