Dangerous — Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson

Dangerous

First released

Dangerous was recorded primarily between 1989 and 1991 at various studios including Capitol Studios, One on One Recording Studios, and the Record Plant in Los Angeles. The album was produced by Michael Jackson alongside Teddy Riley, who introduced new jack swing production techniques to Jackson's sound, and other producers including Bruce Swedien, who engineered much of the project. Jackson worked with multiple engineers including Jeff "Schnapf" Hornik and Bruce Swedien to achieve the album's signature sound, which blended contemporary hip-hop and R&B influences with Jackson's pop sensibilities. The production incorporated state-of-the-art technology of the early 1990s, including digital recording and advanced drum programming that helped define the era's production aesthetic. Released in November 1991, the album marked Jackson's most experimental work at that time and became one of the best-selling albums of the decade.
