Creation Records — CRELP 219

Be Here Now, Oasis's third studio album, was recorded primarily at Miles Copeland's Chateau de Marouatte in France and at other locations during 1997, with producer Owen Morris returning alongside Noel Gallagher who took a more hands-on role in the production. The recording sessions were marked by the band's increased use of orchestral arrangements, string sections, and layered production techniques that reflected their ambition to create a more expansive sound following the massive success of Wonderwall. Noel Gallagher's songwriting and arrangement choices dominated the sessions, with the band spending considerable time and resources on overdubs and instrumentation, contributing to the album's dense sonic texture. The production process benefited from the band's confidence and commercial momentum at the height of Britpop, though some critics later noted that the heavily produced arrangements and extensive overdubbing created a less organic sound compared to their earlier work. The album was released in August 1997 and became one of the fastest-selling albums in British history, though its critical reception was mixed compared to the band's previous efforts.
