Be Here Now — Oasis

Oasis

Be Here Now

First released

Be Here Now was recorded at multiple studios including Miles Copeland's Chateau de Marouatte in France and RAK Studios in London during 1996 and early 1997. The album was produced by Oasis themselves alongside Owen Morris, who had worked with the band previously, with engineer Alan Moulder also contributing significantly to the sound. The production was marked by extensive use of heavy compression, layering, and orchestral arrangements, creating a denser sound compared to their previous albums. Recording took place during a period of significant band tension and substance abuse issues, which affected the creative process. The album was released in August 1997 and became one of the fastest-selling debuts in UK chart history, though it later received mixed critical reviews regarding its overly polished and compressed production approach.
