(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?

First released

(What's the Story) Morning Glory? was recorded primarily at Miles Kopstick's residential studio in Oxfordshire, England, between May and August 1995, with additional sessions at other locations including Rockfield Studios in Wales. The album was produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher, with Morris serving as the primary engineer and mixer who played a crucial role in shaping the album's distinctive sound. The band employed straightforward, guitar-driven recording techniques with minimal overdubbing, capturing much of the material in relatively few takes to preserve the raw energy of the performances. The production benefited from the songwriting maturity of Noel Gallagher and the tight rhythm section of bassist Paul McGuigan and drummer Alan White, which were captured with clarity and punch. Released in October 1995, the album became a landmark work of the Britpop era and one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s, with its production style influencing rock music throughout the decade.
