Harvest — SHDW 403

A Nice Pair is a compilation album released by Pink Floyd in 1974 that combined their two debut albums, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967) and A Saucerful of Secrets (1968), remastered for the reissue. The original recordings were made at EMI Studios in London with producer Norman Smith, who worked with the band during their formative years and was instrumental in capturing their early psychedelic sound. The 1974 remastering and compilation was undertaken to introduce the band's original material to new audiences during a period when they were achieving major commercial success with their recent albums. The album marked a retrospective look at Pink Floyd's sonic development from their experimental psychedelic beginnings under Syd Barrett's creative direction through their transition into the more progressive sound that would define their later work.
