News of the World — Queen

Queen

News of the World

First released

News of the World was recorded at the Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles between August and September 1976, following Queen's successful A Day at the Races tour. The album was produced by Queen themselves along with engineer Mike Stone, who had worked with the band on previous projects. The band utilized advanced multitrack recording techniques and employed layered vocal harmonies that had become their signature sound, particularly evident on tracks like "We Are the Champions." The recording took place during a period of creative confidence for Queen, as the band was at the height of their commercial success in the mid-1970s. News of the World was released in October 1976 and became one of Queen's most commercially successful albums, featuring some of their most iconic songs.
