Sheer Heart Attack, Queen's third studio album, was recorded primarily at Trident Studios in London between late 1973 and early 1974, with additional sessions at Sarm East Studios. The album was produced by the band themselves in collaboration with engineer Roy Thomas Baker, who would become instrumental in shaping Queen's signature sound during this period. The production marked a shift toward a more polished and layered approach, featuring increased use of overdubbing and vocal harmonies that would define Queen's later work. Recording took place during a time when the band was rapidly gaining momentum, having achieved their first hit with "Killer Queen," which was also included on this album. The technical choices made during these sessions, particularly in vocal arrangement and production techniques, established many of the sonic characteristics that would characterize Queen's subsequent commercial success.
