Matador — OLE-1040-0

Like Clockwork, Queens of the Stone Age's sixth studio album, was recorded primarily at Homme's residence studio in the Mojave Desert between 2011 and 2013. Josh Homme produced and engineered the album alongside co-producer Mark Ronson, with additional engineering support from Joe Barresi. The recording process was notably extended and meticulous, with Homme focusing on crafting detailed arrangements and layered production that marked a departure from the band's heavier earlier work. The album featured guest appearances from various artists including Dave Grohl, Elton John, and Trent Reznor, reflecting Homme's collaborative approach during this period. Released in June 2013, the album represented a more polished, introspective sound compared to previous releases, utilizing extensive studio techniques including synthesizers and electronic elements alongside traditional rock instrumentation.
