Music on Vinyl — MOVLP250

Lullabies to Paralyze, the fifth studio album by Queens of the Stone Age, was recorded primarily at the band's own Pink Duck Studios in Los Angeles during 2004-2005, with additional sessions at other locations. The album was produced by the band's frontman Josh Homme along with co-producer/engineer Chris Goss, who had previously worked with the band on Songs for the Deaf. The recording process featured the band experimenting with more layered arrangements and overdubbing techniques compared to their previous work, utilizing analog equipment and tape recording methods favored by Homme. The album marked a departure in songwriting style, with Homme focusing on more introspective and melancholic themes while maintaining the band's signature heavy guitar-driven sound. Released in March 2005, the album was one of the first major projects completed at Pink Duck Studios and helped establish it as a significant creative hub for the band's subsequent work.
