XL Recordings — XLLP783

Amnesiac was recorded primarily at the same sessions that produced Kid A between 1999 and 2000, taking place at various locations including the band's own Base Studios in Oxford and other facilities. The album was produced by Radiohead themselves alongside Nigel Godrich, who had become the band's primary producer since OK Computer. The recordings utilized a mix of digital and analog equipment, with the band experimenting extensively with unconventional recording techniques and song arrangements during these extended sessions. Released in June 2001, just eight months after Kid A, Amnesiac represented material that emerged from the same creative period but was sequenced and arranged separately to create a distinct sonic identity. The album marked a continuation of Radiohead's post-OK Computer exploration into electronic music, jazz influences, and experimental production methods.
