KID A MNESIA is a compilation album released by Radiohead in November 2021, featuring material from the Kid A and Amnestic sessions recorded primarily between 1999 and 2000 at various locations including their own purpose-built studio, Brill Building, and other facilities. The original recordings were produced by Radiohead themselves alongside producer Nigel Godrich, who served as engineer and mixer for much of the material. The album includes previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions, and material that had been archived for over two decades, with some tracks remastered and others newly mixed by Godrich for this release. The production marked a departure from traditional rock recording methods, incorporating extensive use of electronic instruments, digital processing, and experimental production techniques that were characteristic of Radiohead's work during this innovative period. The compilation's creation was prompted by the band's desire to revisit and share the creative output from sessions that had fundamentally shaped their artistic direction in the early 2000s.
