Pablo Honey, Radiohead's debut album, was recorded primarily at RAK Studios in London during 1992 and early 1993, with additional sessions at other facilities. The album was produced by John Leckie, an experienced producer who had worked with The Stone Roses and XTC, alongside the band themselves. The recording process was relatively straightforward and captured the band's alternative rock sound before their experimental turn on subsequent albums, with the band performing largely live in the studio. The album featured the breakthrough hit "Creep," recorded in December 1992, which became an unexpected international success after its initial release and later re-release in 1994. The production reflected the band's grunge and alternative rock influences of the early 1990s, establishing their foundational sound before they pursued more innovative and complex arrangements on later releases.
