Pablo Honey

First released

Pablo Honey, Radiohead's debut album, was recorded primarily at EMI Studios in London during 1992 with producer Paul Kolderie and engineer Sean Slade, who had previously worked with alternative rock bands. The recording took place across multiple sessions and incorporated both live instrumentation and early experimentation with electronic elements, establishing the band's emerging sound during the early 1990s alternative rock movement. The album was engineered with relatively straightforward production techniques compared to the band's later work, capturing their raw energy as a developing group. Notable for featuring the early version of "Creep," which would become significantly reimagined, the album marked Radiohead's initial commercial release on EMI Records and helped establish their presence in the UK music scene before their later critical success.
