Virgin — V2017

Rock Bottom, released in 1974, was recorded at various London studios including Island Studios and producer Richard Branson's facilities. The album was produced by Robert Wyatt himself alongside Nick Davis, with engineer assistance from Nick Davis and other technical staff. Recorded following Wyatt's 1973 accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down, the album featured innovative studio techniques that accommodated his physical condition while maintaining artistic ambition. The production incorporated orchestral arrangements, experimental sound design, and layered vocal processing that became characteristic of Wyatt's approach. The album represented a significant technical and creative achievement in progressive and experimental rock, showcasing how studio technology could expand artistic possibilities despite physical limitations.
