Hut Recordings — HUTLP11

Siamese Dream was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, California in 1992 under the production of Butch Vig, who became known for his work with the band and later Nirvana. The album was engineered primarily by Butch Vig along with additional engineering support, utilizing analog recording techniques that captured the band's layered guitar-driven sound. Billy Corgan's distinctive vocal approach and the intricate guitar work of James Iha and Jeff Scherzak were central to the sonic palette, with Vig helping to shape the band's ethereal yet heavy aesthetic. The recording took place during the early stages of the grunge movement's mainstream breakthrough, positioning the Smashing Pumpkins within but distinctly separate from the Seattle sound that dominated alternative rock at the time. Released in July 1992, Siamese Dream established the band's signature production style and helped launch them toward international recognition.
