Days of Future Passed — The Moody Blues with the London Festival Orchestra conducted by Peter Knight

Days of Future Passed was recorded at Decca Studios in London between 1967 and 1968, marking a significant departure from the Moody Blues' previous blues-rock style. Producer Tony Clarke collaborated with arranger and conductor Peter Knight, who orchestrated the London Festival Orchestra to create the album's distinctive symphonic sound. The recording featured innovative use of the mellotron and early synthesizer elements, combined with lush orchestral arrangements that created the prog-rock and symphonic rock sound the band would become known for. The album was engineered by Decca's technical team and represented one of the first successful fusions of rock music with classical orchestration. Released in November 1967, it became both a commercial and critical success, influencing the development of progressive rock and establishing the Moody Blues' signature sound for the coming decade.
