4AD — 4AD0244LPX
2020 reissue vinyl praised for improved pressing quality and quieter surfaces compared to original 2010 pressing; warmer analog character.

High Violet, the fourth studio album by The National, was recorded primarily at Romulus Studios in Brooklyn and Sands Point Studios in Long Island during 2009-2010. The album was produced by Peter Katis, known for his work with Interpol and The Jagjaguwar label artists, alongside the band themselves. Recording took place across multiple sessions with engineer Brían "B" Morrison contributing to the technical aspects of the production. The band employed a more refined and layered approach to arrangements compared to their previous work, incorporating orchestral elements and more prominent vocal production. High Violet marked a significant creative evolution for The National and was released in May 2010, becoming their most commercially successful album at that time.
