Jailbreak — Thin Lizzy

Thin Lizzy

Jailbreak

First released

Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak" was recorded at the Record Plant in Los Angeles in 1975 under the production of John Alcock and the band themselves. The album marked a significant shift toward a more polished, radio-friendly hard rock sound compared to their earlier work, featuring Phil Lynott's distinctive vocals and the band's signature dual guitar harmonies from Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. Engineer Tony Visconti contributed to the technical aspects of the recording, helping achieve the album's clear, powerful production quality. "Jailbreak" became Thin Lizzy's commercial breakthrough, particularly in the UK, establishing the band as major players in the hard rock genre and spawning the iconic title track that remains one of their most recognized songs.
